Vogtherr: The adulterer (1544 )

The adulterer by Heinrich Vogtherr. Death fixates the woman by her hair while the husband kills the adulterous couple. Evidently this image was too stark and in later editions a milder version was used instead. There's a larger version here: The adulterer.
