|Vesalius Q||Vesalius V|
Initial letter from the 1543 edition of De Fabrica by Vesalius. Little boys are hoisting a dog before examination. The letter functions as a prop in the action (this is also true for the small T but not for the 1555-edition). The difference between this scene and the small T is that the dog appears to be already dead and is suspended by its hindlegs, There's a larger version here: Vesalius T.
