The picture of the Roman emperor Maximilian I was illustrated with the emperor from Des Dodes Dantz. Printed in Hamburg in 1509, but the woodcut must have been returned to Lübeck, because it was also used in Dodendantz, 1520, and Copenhagen's dance of death, ca. 1550.
