Douce: Illustrations of Shakespeare

Many years before Francis Douce published his famous book about dances of death he had written a book about Shakespeare: "Illustrations of Shakspeare, and of Ancient Manners" (1807). In this book he reproduced the illustrated initial shown in previous image.
