Watercolour by Rudolf Feyerabend from 1806 showing Basel's Dance of Death. The merchant. The ruins in the background and the felled tree to the left show that Feyerabend has copied Jacques-Antony Chovin rather than Matthew Merian. However, the Merian family arms on the package is the single exception that proves Feyerabend has also looked at Merian's copper plates.
