Book of Hours, The dead king

Douce 135. The dance ends with the dead king.
Normally La danse Macabre ends with a dead king and an authority / author, but in this book the authority doesn't appear, so the king lies alone.
The image is reminscent of the one in Simon Vostre's books of hours and the unknown one used by Baillieu in 1862. There's a larger version here: Dead king.
