The picture shows the torments of Purgatory or Hell (they are difficult to tell apart). Naturally, the good people go to Heaven.

In paradise will be the good ones
with the Holy Trinity.
There they will live in complete freedom
412 in perfect felicity.

In hell will be the damned;
Condemned without ever dying
since they will be condemned there.
412 No one will be able to help them.

We get confirmation again that images and text form a unit: "man, who looks here and reads" (»Homs qui cy regardes et lis«, 397); and "see the souls in purgatory" »Voy les ames en purgatoire« (401).

En paradis seront les bons

Condampnez sans jamais mourir
Puis que la seront condempnez

Les terribles paines denfer
Qui jamais finer ne porront
Font grandement a redoubter
420 De ceulx qui en pechie morront
