Up! Put down the crutch, crawl into the coffin!
Your strength has waned, your years have increased,
You shall now find your rest through me.

Ich folge willig dir. Die Kräfte sind verzehret,
Des Alters Ungemach hat sich bisher vermehret,
Ich habe längst erlernt die Kunst mit Lust zu sterben,
Wohl mir, da ich nunmehr kann Salems Ruhe erben.

I follow you willingly. My strength is spent,
the hardships of old age have increased until now.
I have long since learned the art of dying with joy.
Happy am I, that I can now inherit Salem's peace.
