Das ich hab dein hueth, kratzest im haar,
die sichel, pflegel, dein handtwerckh war,
darmit hast gewunnen ser wenig gelt,
darumb wirst veracht auff diser Welt.

You scratch your hair, because I have your hat.
The sickle, the flail, was your trade;
With this you gained very little money,
Therefore you are despised in this world.

Wenn ich schon nicht kann gewinnen viel Geld,
Zu leben mir doch noch länger gefällt.
Die Noth will gern ich nicht mehr klagen;
Thu' mir das Leben nur nicht absagen.

Even if I can't earn a lot of money,
I'd still like to live longer.
I won't complain about hardship anymore;
