The world's first case of death. To the left, Accident watches while Cain kills Abel with a jaw-bone of an ass.
In "La Vie de l'Homme" and "Accidens", Death actively participates in the killing with his big dart. Death explains that "their [Adam and Eve's] son Cain was the first to pay homage to me": »Leur fils Caïn me fit premier hommage«.
In Loups ravissans, Cain says that he killed one quarter of the world's population because of his envy: »Comment par cayn lenuieux / Le quart du monde fut martir«.
